ST. PAUL’S REOPENED
THEIR MAJESTIES 'ATTEND. PRESENTATION OF CITY SWORD (Bfitlth Official WlrelMt.) Rugby, June 25. The official ceremony in connection with the reopening of St. Paul’e Cathedral took place to-day, when the King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family took part in the service. Their Majesties drove through crowded streets in an open four-horse carriage with outriders. At the Temple Bar, on the boundary of the city of London, the drive was checked for the ancient ceremony of the presentation of the city sword to the King. On the arrival of the King the sword and mace were reversed and the Lord Mayor, receiving the pearl sword from the sword bearer, surrendered it with the point lowered to the King. The Lord Mayor, aidermen, sheriffs and commanders then led the procession to the Cathedral, while the service was conducted by the Bishop of London and attended by an immense congregation, including an exceptionally large number of bishops and clergy, who from all parts of the Empire are visiting London for the Lambeth Conference.
