The Dollar Line steamer President Garfield is in no immediate danger, after running aground solidly fore and aft on Mantanilia shoal, east of Point Jupiter, Florida. The President Garfield grounded early in the day. At first she gave no indication of trouble. Her position was erroneously received, but later corrected. The President Garfield was going to Havana, after leaving New York on January 17, on i round-the-world cruise. The passengers and mail were safely transferred to the Pan-America. Five naval vessels from southern ports are hurrying to the liner’s assistance. Apparently there is no immediate danger.
