BY WISCONSIN PROFESSOR. ENDORSEMENT OF HISTORY BOOK DEPRECATED. (Received 20, 10.55 a.m.) New York, March 19. Professor Carl Russell Fish, of the University of Wisconsin, resents the endorsement of his history text-book by Mayor Bill Thompson, of Chicago. Professor Fish said: ‘‘Both my publisher and I regard it as most unfortunate, for it will certainly not help the sale of the book in any way.”— (A. and N.Z.) University of Glasgow students recently had some fun with William Halo Thompson, anti-British Mayor of Chicago. One of the students, dressed as "Big Bill,” burned the Encyclopedia Brittanica.
