YOUNG MAORI PARTY
MARKET GARDEN STARTED. TRAINING OF YOUTHS. Wanganui, Aug. 20. The Young Maori party is getting into its striae. One of its first decisions was to lease ten acres at I’uuki with the object of growing vegetables for the market and providing -work for Maori youths and girls who hitherto have been working for Chinamen in market gardens. Through its efforts a new committee has been appointed to control the Morikau Farm up the river, and the outlook for this now looks much brighter, as an active training place will "be provided for Maori youths.
An entertainment party has been organised, and later it will go on tour for the purpose of collecting funds to assist the Young Maori party.
