HASTINGS LODGE. QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Hastings Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held on Thursday last, Bro. L. R. Fargher, N.G., presiding. liro. W. A. 11. Oakley was appointed to act as one of the trustees of the I/odge in place of P.D.G.M. Bro. G. Land during the latter’s absence from tlie Dominion. An invitation from the Ruahine Lodge, Tikokino, for the annual hall on 14th September, was accepted. Lodge honours were accorded Sister Atkinson of the Forest Homo Lodge, Ormondville, who suitably responded. The 49th anniversary of the Lodge will be celebrated on September 29th and the function will take the form of a “ladies’ night.” The details are being arranged by the social committee who have a pleasant surprise in store for those in attendance. The draft programme submitted by the Jubilee committee was adopted. The celebrations will commence with the Children’s Christmas party in December next and the principal events following will be the unveiling of the Roil of Honour, the Biennial Conference nf the New Zealand branch, a Jubilee ball and the 50th anniversary on the 24th October, 1928. It is also proposed to have a special badge struck and a souvenir programme with the early history of the lodge and a list of members. Accounts totalling £321 were passed for payment.
