MEN OF THE PAST
THE GREAT ADVENTURERS TRIBUTE BY PRINCE OF WALES. SPIRIT OF COURAGE STILL EXISTS. (By Cable —Press Assn. — Copyright.) (Received 20, 11.30 a.m.) Victoria (8.C.), Aug. 19. “The men of the past were not content to sit at home and wait for trade to come to them; they went out into the world and sought it,” the Prince of Wales declared when addressing the Canadian Club here in a tribute to the great adventurers of the past. “The Empire owes its existence to these men, who relied upon their own courage entirely. Some of my generation may wonder if we have that same spirit and can emulate these men. I believe the spirit of courage and endurance exists still—the war proved that.”—(A. and N.Z.)
