WHEAT CROP ESTIMATES
FROST DAMAGE IN SASKATCHEWAN. RAIN ELSEWHERE IN CANADA. (Received 17, 10.10 a.m.) Ottawa, Aug. 16. A message from Saskatoon in the Saskatchewan says owing to frost damage to the wheat crops in that belt a week ago it is now geneiady admitted that it is impossible to give an accurate estimate of the crop until threshing time. The prospects are still good for a better crop than the average throughout Canada, provided the weather is fuvourble, but there have been heavy raifis recently in Manitoba and parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta, and tust infraction is how quite general but is only serious with the late crops' Harvesting is expected to be going on extensively next week which is aboiit ten days later than usual.
