THEFT OF “CHOOKS”
ALLEGED AGAINST MALTESE. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Gisborne. August 17 Five charges of receiving stolen fouls and one charge of receiving stolen clothing, were preferred against an elderly Maltest. David Nelson, in the Police Court i’ is morning, the cases being a sequel to a recent burglafy and ' thefts. Seventy-five fowls in all had been stolen from various hen-roosts. The evidence showed that the accused had been selling poltrv to local dealers The accused was committed for trial.
