FOR THE CENTRAL SCHOOL PIANO FUNDD.
A very satisfactory little 500 evenmg was organised last week by Mrs J. W. Shaw, assisted by the wives ot the school committee, in aid of the Central School piano fund. The evening was held in the old Technical Scnool building. Tables were arranged for cards, and about fifty peop.e spent an enjoyable evening over the intracicies of the game. The first ladies’ prize was won by Mrs Hill, and Mr. Scrivener came first among the men. A very appetising supper was handed round, which was capably managed by the organising ladies. A satisfactory sum towards the piano fund resulted from the evening, and it is hoped that the funds will be benefited again by another evening to be held shortly.
