NAPIER CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The Napier Bonding Club's annual general meeting was held last night, Mr. C. L. Schmoll presiding. The annual report read as follows: “The results of the year's working have resulted in a profit of £32 15/8, the credit to the profit and loss account now standing at £7B 2/10. “The club competitions resulted as follows: Championship singles, E. Bissell 1, F. McVicar 2; Saturday aggregate. E. Bissell; handicap pairs, Messrs Bissell and Wardell-Johnson 1. Hill and Sweetapple 2; Saturday rinks, W. J. Gilberd (skip), Fargher (3), Fowler (2), Corner (lead).

“The club was also represented in the championship fours, and New Year and Easter tournaments. In the two former we were only moderately successful, but in the Easter tournament a team succeeded in winning, whilst two other rinks ran into the semi-finals. In the shield competition the club only made a fair showing. “The thanks of the club are due to the following gentlemen who gave contributions during the season • Messrs H. Bull and R. Holt £2 2/each; Messrs Renouf and Harris, £1 1/- each; Mr. C. H. McGhee, £1; Messrs Townsend and Belcher. 10/each. The president, besides providing two trophies for competition during the season, also contributed £1 1/-. The club is also greatly indebted to the ladies for the very great assistance rendered financially to our club.

“Electric light play was an innovation during the past season, and was appreciated by our own bowlers and members of other clubs to whom our warmest thanks are due for their very loyal support. After paying the cost of installation, a net profit of £5 3/1 is shown. “Thanks are due to the caretaker, Mr. A. E. Houseman, and Mr. J. W. Steed, who has gratuitously assisled the caretaker during the season; also to Mr. W. F. Lydford for keeping the records of the club’s competitions and for supplying the press with reports of the games. We are also indebted to the press for publishing the results. “The membership of the club is life members 1, ordinary members 75, visiting members 13, nonorary members 3, total 92.” The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as under: President, Mr. S. Harris; vice-president, Mr. A. SV. Pirie; secretary and treasurer. Mr. P. J. Bear: honorary auditors, Messrs 11. Bull and H Wardell-Johnson: ground superintendent. Mr. A. W. Pirie; committee, Messrs Andrew, Cunningham, Engebretsen, Goodger, Steed, with the retiring president, Mr. C. L Schmoll (ex-officio); sole selector. Mr. C. St J. Cunningham: delegates to East Coast Bowling Centre. Messrs Bear and Cunningham.
