DAIRY BOARD.
CONSIDERATION OF FUTURE POLICY. MR MOTION’S RESIGNATION. Wellington, July 14. The Dairy Board carried a motion rescinding the resolution initiating absolute control- Detailed consideration was given to the future policy of the board, that is, the regulation of shipments, supervision of loading and handling of produce in New Zealand and its discharge in Britain, and the continuation of a comprehensive insurance provision.
That all produce after arrival in Britain be stored until the time of sale in cool stores, was approved by the Board. The Board is to include in the conditions of the proposed export license, the power to audit merchants’ accounts. Copies of all account sales are to be supplied to the London office and all particulars of tales and consignments are to be supplied to the Board in New Zealand, as outlined in the Australian license. The Board decided that the London agency be not reconstituted. The resignation of Mr J. B. Wright will be effective from September 30, but his services will be available if required longer to facilitate the finalising of the season’s accounts. It was resolved that the levy for the forthcoming season should be halved. New insurance was announced, the new rates showing a saving of £2OOO. The rates are 7/3 per cent, for butter, 9/3 per cent, for cheese, representing n reduction of a penny in butter and 7d in cheese. It was intimated that Mr W. C. Motion is resigning in order to represent Lovell and Christmas in the Auckland district.
