ARMISTICE AT MUKDEN. WEATHER TOO COLD FOR FIGHTING. (Received 21. 9.10 a.m.) Pekin. Rec. 20. As frostbite was causing much suffering among the rival armies outside Mukden, General Kuo, brigade com mander of Kuo Sung-lin’s advance guard, telephoned to General Wu, brigade commander of the Mukden army, suggesting an armistice, where upon, according io report, the latter immediately agreed. Official advices indicate that operations are being held up owing to the extreme cold, but do not confirm the armistice negotiations.—(Reuter).
