Wanganui., Dec. 10 A severe shock ot earthquake, ao coiupauied by loud rumbling was felt at 1.15 this morning. Several chimneys in the city were more or lest damaged. CHRISTCHURCH SLEEPERS AWAKENED. Christchurch. Dec. 10. A short shock of earthquake was experienced in Christchurch at-1.15 thia morning. It was sufficiently severe to wake sleepers and to ring the bell of the clock at the post office.
Tho shock was felt in Hawke’s Bay at 1.15 a.m., lasting 12 to 15 seconds. The movement was not to cause alarm.
