EGYPTIAN PRESS LAW.

A STRINGENT CENSORSHIP. REVOLUTIONARY PROPAGANDA PROHIBITED. London, Sept. 11. The “Morning Post’s” Cairo correspondent states that the Egyptian Government has decided to impose a penalty not exceeding five years ’imprisonjnent on journalists whose articles Incite against the established regime or tend to bring it into disrepute, which contain revolutionary ideas conflicting with the ideal of constitutional government or favour a change in the existing social condition of affairs.

The last provision is evidently intended to make Bolshevik propaganda a crime in Egypt. Nobody will be allowed to start new newspapers until further notice.—(A. and N.Z.)
