OFFICIALS AND MERCHANTS INVOLVED. EVASION OF CUSTOMS. (Received 12, 9.15 a.m.) Vienna, Sept. 10. Thirty thousand million crowns revenue frauds are alleged against Austrian officials and others. The police arrested twenty in addition to 34 merchants’ agents charged with unloading and selling huge consignments of bonded foreign merchandise, entering Austria ostensibly for re-export. Some of the conspirators are prominent Vienna wholesalers. They .e--sold to retailers who were enabled to sell so cheaply that suspicion was aroused that duty had not r-een paid.— (Times.)
