NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ORDINARY MEETING. The Napier Borough Council met last night, there being present His "Worship the Mayor (Mr. J. B. Andrew) and Crs Ashcroft, Bennett, Hobson, Clark. Hill. Black, Smith. Wood, Bryant, Creagh. Secretary Napier Fire Board forwarded Superintendent Pickering’s report on the question of having two firemen in attendance at theatres, which recommended that under the new by-laws, which had effectively stood the test, that one fireman could carry out the duties necessary during picture entertainments.—lt was resolved to give effect to Superintendent Pickering’s rocotamendation. John Griffin asked the council to reconsider their decision with reference to his appr , *-‘' ; °tion for payment of the expenses of the audit in connection with the statement of his position under the Napier South sewerage contract. —Tt was decided to offer Mr. Griffin half the amount. Cr Bryant gave notice to move: “That trackless tra>»» be used to l ; nk up with the present terminus from Vigor Brown street.”
