HEALTH AND HOUSES.
NEED FOR MORE BUILDING. AIORE WORKERS WANTED. Wellington, October 12. The need for more skilled tradesmen was cressed by a deputation from the North Canterbury Hospital Board, which waited on the Alinister of Health. The deputation said that if sound health was sought more houses must be built. Private enterprise would build houses if the Government would see that more tradesmen wore available. New Zealand could do with 10.000 bricklayers, joiners, plumbers, coopers, iron moulders, and paperhangers. The Minister said he would represent the views expressed to the. Prime .Minister and Minister of Education. He was having great difficulty in, biiildjng schools at a reasonable cost, coiftLactors having told him that it was very difficult to get tradesmen, especially plasterers.
