PRICE OF MILK.

Wellington, Feb. 6. The Board of Trade Inquiry regarding the supply, distribution, and price of milk in Wellington opened to-day. The producers’ representative complained that the price, lOjd per gallon, was not sufficient and said it was absurd to regard the producers as exploiters of the public, inasmuch as when the war started they suggested there should be a free milk supply if called for. Suppliers to the town were under conconisiderable disabilities as compared with factory suppliers and should get at least a penny per gallon more.

Evidence was then given by the suppliers and the board then went into committee.
