MANAWATU SHOW.

PEOPLE”S DAY. Palmerston N., Nov. 3. There was beautiful weather and a big attendance at People’s Day of the Manawatu Show, the gate receipts being £ISO in excess of last ' The Hons. G. W. Russell. W. D. S. Macdonald and W. H. Kerries were present. The Show was an unqualified success. The exhibits of cattle and pigs were exceptionally good, perhaps the best seen on the ground. Sheep were weak owing to the shortage of labour. Horses were above the average and the jumping exceptionally good. A new covered-in pavilion for cattle was much appreciated by cattle breeders. Results :— Champion Hack. — W. Harold Booth’s (Carterton) Lonely. Harness Horse (style and action). — S. F. Perrett’s (Awapuni) Ruby. Leaping Competition.— J. Brice s (Marton) Hailstorm. Champion Hunter. — H. Hassall’s (Hastings) Mickey Free, winning the O’Rorke Challenge Cup for winning th econtest three years in succession.
