REV. T. TAIT. ' Wilson Hull, Port Alniriri, was 'crowded to the th most last evening by members and ft lends of the Port Presbyterian Church was assembled I to sav farew ell to liev. T. and Mrs. Tait. “ On the motion of the Rev. Charles I Connor, the Hey. J. X. Dodds was called to the chair. A handsome presentation of two easy chairs from the church members to Mr. and Mrs. Tait, was made by Mr. Maben. Air. Redwood for many years superintendent of the Sunday School in a pleasing.speech then presented Mrs. Tait witn a silver cake dish from the teachers and scholars. On behalf of the ladies of the Pres--1 byterian Women's Missionary Cnion .a'further presentation was made by Mr. Bissell and Mrs. Christie (Pres.) of a salad bowl and servers, and set of tea cups. Messrs. Findlay and Ciaik in their speeches, made appropriate and ap- ■ preeiative reference to the worth and work of Rev. and .Mrs. Tait and to the love and esteem in winch they wore held. Mr. and Mrs. Tait replied most suitably and in. thanking me congragation lor their kindly .wishes wisi.cd them ail “God speed.’’ I An interesting and enjoyable, programme was gone through, items being contributed by Misses Montgomery and Jean Lumsden, Mrs. Reynolds, Messrs. Jamieson and D. Connor- Little -Miss Irene Wrightson gave a e..arming recitation “Mj; .-Shadow,” “Three Green Bonnets was recited by tnree little girls in a .very pretty way, and a “Groqd 'Night” song was rendered by a choir ’of id'.' Sunday school girls. During the i-.i’iiug 'Mrs. Tait received, a lovely bouquet of flowers from Miss ‘Jessie Bowes, and a dainty floral | basket from the infant classes, was ! handed to her by two tiny tots, Jean Munro and Bona Clark. Votes of thunks io the chairman, the performers and all others who in any way assisted weio called for by Messrs.*Clark and Redwood. The accompaniments were played by Misses Sheppat.d and. Munro, C. Connor and Mr. E. Jamieson. Several apologies for absence were read by the chairman, and . supper was handed round by the ladies. The National Anthem and the Benediction brought a very successful evening to a dose.
