THE COLONIAL SUGAR CO. Sydney, Oct. 31. At the half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Sugar Co. the chairman stated that- the position of the Queensland mills was very unsatisfactory owing to the fixing of the price of cane and the unprecedented wages awards. He was unable to give details on account of the proceedings in the Supreme Court. The accounts covered a sum of £11,500, representing the company’s liability and the difference in the pay of employees enlisted, totalling 163 officers and 424 wage earners.
