Private Frederick George Fahy (Gerald Fahy, Kukaturu Station, Wairoa Hawke's Bay). Second Lieutenant Alfred John Price (Mrs. E. Price, Takapau, H. 8., mother).

REMOVED FROM SERIOUSLY ILL LIST. Private John Downing (Mrs. K. Downing. Harding road, Port Ahurir. Napier, mother). DANGEROUSLY ILL. (In Hospital, Southampton.) Rifleman John McCarthy (R. McCarthy, 720 Wall road. Hastings, father). SOME PERSONAL NOTES. Corporal R. A. E. Skelton, son of Mrs. L. Hammond, TVhakatu. who was recently reported missing, is now definitely reported as killed in action on September 15th. Corporal Skelton, who was just over 19 years of age was well known in Napier. where he was born. He was a member of the Ist Battalion of the N.Z. Rifle Brigade, and saw service in Egypt and Fiance. Private E. L. Courtney, of the 12th Reinforcements, who was recently reported wounded, has now died of his injuries. Prior to enlisting Private Courtney was a nieinbei of the Napier Supreme Court ''tail and his genial disposition and generous nature acquired many friends who now mourn his loss. Private H. Laws, son of Mrs. R. C. Laws, Nanier. has been inissmg since September 27th. He It ft with the Main Body. Mrs. M. Cropp. of Paradise road Napier, has received word that her son. Private Carl Cropp. vio w•wounded in the right arm. has had to have that limb amputated. A letter written by the late Seigeant H. E. Jarvis, son of Dr. and Mrs. Jarvis, shortly before the voting soldier lost his life is now to hand. In the letter Sergeant Jaryis stated that he was then in receipt of notice of his being recommended for a commission. It is a great consolation to his nnrents know that their soldier son’s keenness and hard work had been recognised bv his officers.
