The Sixtieth casualty’ list is as follows: — Killed in action : 2 officers and IS tncn, inending E. E. Driver, New Zealander. Died of wounds: I officer and 10 men. Wounded : 3 officers and 96 inen, including W. Kennedy and J. 11. Coulson (the latter for the second time). New Zealanders. Ill: 4 officers and 54 men. The sixty-first casualty list, is as follows. — Killed in action: 41. Died of wounds : 27. Wounded: 4 officers and 181 men, including Private D. L. Matheson (second occasion), A. Hornby and A. L. Gibson (the two latter in hospital at Malta.) Missing : 2.

Prisoners of war: 2. Ill: 22 officers and 55 men, including Privates J. Smith (in hospital at Ghezireh), W. Kennery (in hospital at Malta). Nw Zealanders, both previously wounded. L. ('. Wood, reported wounded, has rejoined his unit. THE WOUNDED AND SICK. INFORMATION SYSTEM NEEDS REVISING.

A large deputation of Auckland mothers interviewed tin- Mayor. (Mr. Gunson) and urged that an immediate improvement, in the system of notifying casualties and the progress of wounded soldiers in hospital should ho made. Cases wero quoted showing the inadequacy of tiie present arrangements, and complaint. made of the non-delivery of parcels sent to the soldiers. 'Die .Mayor slates that he lias boon overwhelmed with complaints of all kinds arising in connection with the interests of the men abroad. In his opinion the whole system requires rearranging. Mr. Gunson has wired to the Minister of Defence on the subject. ELSTHORPE FUNDS 1 (Own Correspondent.) Mr. Tom Priest, Elsthorpe, hon. treasurer of the Oero monthly fund, till the close of the war, for the Prince of Wales’ Fund, received during July the following subscriptions which make a total of £298 8/- for the first year of the war: —One month : Mrs. Alick Williams £2 2/-, Messrs. Alick Williams £5 5/-. Two months : M. Priest £l, F. Lincoln £l, Priest Bros. £l. Three months: F. L. Tifton £6. Five months: M. Ryan £5, G. H. Beachen £2 10’-. Six months : W. Hunter £1 10/-.
