SMALLPOX.
A MAORI INFECTED. .'tuckland. June 5. A half caste Maori .living at One hunga, is stated to be affected with smallpox and has been removed to the isolation ward at Point Chevalier. The local Health authorities state that there is an element cf doubt as to whether the case is smallpox. It will be cleared up in a day or two, and in the meantime every precaution will lie taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Later.
The Maori isolated on suspicion of having smallpox is Rukutai, the well known international footballer.
