FIRES.
AT DUNEDIN. Dunedin, June 5. A double fire occurred on the pre mises of Messrs. Lambert and Co., jewellers, Princes street. The first outbreak was promptly suppressed at 2.30 this morning, but the fire broke out afresh on the upper por tion of the premises, winch were gutted. These were occupied by Stenhousq. confect ioner. Messrs. Lambert, whose stock was much damaged by water, are insur ed in the Standard for £l9O. THE INSURANCES. Dunedin. June 5. Lr.mb'rt’s. where ihe fire occurred. was owned by Airs. Lake and Miss Mitclo-li and was insured fa,-.-£525 in tin New Zealand Company. Stenhoiise's stock and fixtures were insured for £250 in the Phoenix Company ami £-25 in the New Zea-j land office. | Fire is a good servant, but a bad master. Don’t risk serious loss another day.
