BRIDE WAITS AT THE ALTAR. BRIDEGROONI CANCELS LICENSE. Wellington, June 5. A mild sensation was caused ;>.t Petone yesterday, when a wedding which was -timed to take place al 2.30, was brought to a sudden stop owing to the bridegroom failing to put in an appearance. All the guests had assembled and were with the bride awaiting the bridegroom’s \ippearanee. As the quarter hours sped Ivy, however, and hiv.nue halves, and wholes, it was recognised that th? comedy had become a tragedy, and the arrangements were cancelled. The bridegroom, who resides in Christchurch, later cn wired cancelling the marriage license.
