CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY OF N.Z.
The' Council of (he Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand has just i eceived intimation ,by cablegram of the acceptance by Air. Rankin, at present on the staff of the Clydesdale Horse Society of Great Britain and Ireland, of the position of secretary to the New Zealand Society. Air. Rankin leaves for the Dominion on the 17th inst., by the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rcmucra, due to reach Wellington. early in April. The appointment of Mr. Rankin to this important position was made after the most careful consideration by the council, and after receiving t he most satisfactory assurances as to character and ability from his present chief, Mr. Arch. MacNt ilage. secretary of the Home Society.' Mr. Rankin comes with th? best credentials as to his fitness tor the position he has been appointed to, and the Council of .tie New Zealand Society is to be complimented on its good fortune in obtaining -tKe sei vices of cm? so competent to take up the duties of secretary to the. society. On the Editing Committee and Mr. Rankin will fall the vei-y responsible duty of coinpiling the. Stud Book, for which entries are now received.
