DANNEVIRKE.
[OWN OOSBI3FONDINT.] The Magistrate’s Court resumed at 7 o’clock on Friday evening. W1 Pahuru was charged with supplying a native woman with liquor. Evidence was given by Mrs Kuiti, Piki Eparama, John Kuiti, and Constable Cattanach. The defendant was fined 40s, with costs 13s, and witnesses’ expenses 28s, 14 days being allowed in which to pay the fine. A native named Tawhai was charged with supplying liquor to the same native woman, Mrs Kuiti. Mr Lloyd defended. After hearing evidence the information was dismissed. At a meeting of the Ruahine Mounted Rifles held on Friday evening, it was decided to rescind the resolution passed at a former meeting, disbanding the corps. At a meeting of the Chess and Draughts Club, Mr H. B. Coupe presided, The following officers were elected : —President, Mr H. B. Coupe; secretary and treasurer, MrF. W. Hawkins; committee, Messrs Haines, Down and Sutherland.
