HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.

The monthly committee meeting of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club was hold yesterday at the Criterion Hotel. PresentMessrs W. Shritnpton (in the chair), G. L. Sunderland, P. Logan, T. U. Lowry, L. de Pelichet, G. P. Donnelly, and J. H. Coleman. It was resolved that letters be written to the Wanganui Jockey Club and to Mr Freeman Jaokson, expressing regret afc the retirement of Mr Jackson from the secretaryship of the club on account of ill-health. A owner and horse were ordered to be placed on the unpaid forfeit list for a debt due to the Tologa Bay Jockey Club. The transfer of the br f, by Gold Reef— Balm, from Mr John Gleeson to Mr Q, P. Donnelly was agreed to. The doctor's account, .£3, for attendance on B. Thomas was paid from the benevolent fund. The following tenders for the privileges for the ensuing season were accepted : — Bars, Mr S. Charlton, Criterion Hotel; books of races, Mr £5. J. Freeman ; fruit stall, Mr W. Quinlivan, Frederick Willis, William King, Fitz Eenata, Berfc Ellom. Gentlemen Riders' Certificates. — Messrs H. A. Russell, Harry Taylor, H. J. Ireland, Christopher Norgrove, Oswald Johnston. The following programmes wera approved : —Napier Park Racing Club, 10th and Hth October ; Porangahavi Racing Club, 26th December; Waipnwa County Racing Club, 9th November. The application for a meeting at Kopua was refused. It was resolved that a meeting of the committee should be held on the 29th instant, when any further applications for licenses, &c., would be considered. It was also decided that the first meeting of the metropolitan committee should be held on the 6th October. The consideration of the programmes for the summer, autumn, and- winter meetings was then proceeded with. The action of the sub-committee in adding a hack race of 50 soys on each day of the spring meeting was approved. The added money to the summer meeting was raised to .£ll6O, the autumn meeting to ,£2255, and the winter meeting being a total for the season (including the spring meeting) of 45995, a total increase of .£625 over last year.
