DISPUTED FUNDS.
CHARITIES OR THE QUEEN'S
STATUE,

Auckland, Thursday.
It is stated that the trustees of the military tonrnaruent funds have received a notification that legal proceedings will be instituted within seven days to prevent the surplus being handed over to the Queen's statue by the committee. The grounds of the contemplated action are that the citizens did not decide a statue should be erected to commemorate Her Majesty's Jubilee, and that the chairman had no right to rule at the last meeting that committee business done at a previous meeting was invalid,
