THE PREMIER AT HOKITIKA.

[BY TELEORA.PH.] Hokitika, Friday. Mr Seddon addressed- a rather thin, meeting to-night, the Mayor in the chair. He said the Austrian difficulty was settled. The Home Government asked that those on the way be allowed to land, and stated that the Union Company had entered into a bond to maintain those lauded for three months. He dwelt largely on the relative positions of the colony now and when the Government assumed office eight years ago. He said there was no change in the constitution of the Cabinet contemplated. The Ministry were most united. The speech was composed chiefly of jnatters already dealt with. At the conclusion a vote of thanks and confidence was passed, and cheers were given. He leaves for Westport at midnight to meet the Governor.
