MAORI DOG REGISTRATION.
[by tkleqraph.] Auckland, Friday. At the Waitemata Council three Maoris waited on the Council and asked to be allowed to appoint their own registrar of dogs and they would use tho Council's j collar in addition to the county's date and marks. Tho Council agreed to the request, and on the recommendation of tho deputation appointed Hori ICingi, of Makarau, registrar of native dogs in the county of Waitemata at a remuneration of one shilling for each dog registered. The fees received are to he paid into the county fund, and then expended on roads in the Maori settlements where the fees were received. i
