THE COLONIAL BANK.
Dunedin, Friday. In oonneotion with the application of the !lqaldatoiß of the Colonial Bank to have the Hod, G. M'Leau, late president, examined, the matter was not contested, bat counsel for Mr M'Lean submitted that It would only be fair, bb bis client had been anxious and willing all along to Rive Information and assistance to the liquidators, that he should be given access to the books of the bank ; that he should receive prior intimation of the matters to be inquired ioto; and that he should first be examined by hie own counsel and then left for cross-examina-tion. Mr Haggitt for the liquidators agreed to the first two Boegestions, and a« to the IsbO 16 was understood no obj?e tion would be offered to Mr M'Lean prior to examination reading as evidence a (itatement by him relating to the affairs of the bank.
