PRE-SESSIONAL.

MB THOMPSON AT WHANGAREI. [BY TELEGRAPH,] Auckland, Thursday. Mr Thompson, M.H.K., addressed the Whangarei electors at Maraden lost night. Mr Thompson dealt with the legislation of the past session fully. He thought the indications pointed to a pnbllo works borrowing policy. He hoped not, but if so be must insist on getting a share for the North. He denounced in strong terms the Native Land Act, and said It was a disgrace to the Statute Book, 16 was stopping Northern settlement, pauperising the natives, and ruining their credit. A crying Injustice had been done to the North by Its passing. He wonld use. every effort for its repeal, and he thought the natives would bo justified in nsiog every constitutional meina to that end. He did cob think the Minister of Labor's views of the labor question would be a credit to the colony. He considered the charge of " Spoils to the victors " made against the Government was an unfair one and not lustiEed. He spoke with regret of the indisposition of the Minister of Lands, who he considered was doing his best. He was accorded a hearty and unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
