THE OIL WELLS AT TARANAKI.
New Plymouth, Thursday. The quantity and qaalityof oil obtained at Moturoa continues to be satisfactory, and Mr Fair has now pegged out sites for several new bores. Numerous applications are being made from other parts of the colony to Mr Fair to apply in Sydney for shares. He declines to conduct correspondence, but suggests that persons wanting shares may authorise some persons in New Plymouth to sign the request, which is being signed by New Plymouth applicants to the number already of 3500 shares. The draft articles oi association provide for 5000 shares of £1 eaoh of which half la to be paid up-sharea given for the syndicate's property. The deposit Is 2s 6d, and further calls are to be limited to Is each. Mr Fair continues to be innndated with applications, and states that he finds itimpCfSßlble to answer correspondence. Messrs Samuel and Fair leave per Rotomahana for Sydney on Wednesday.
