Eleotion Wottoes tPROPOSB to address the Eleotors of Hawke's Bay at Havelock on THURSDAY, 17th, at half-past seven ; and at Taradale on MONDAY, 21st, the day before the poll, at 7 o'clook. The short time before the election prevents me from being able to Bpeak everywhere I would wish ; but having sent my printed speeches to every eleotor I hope they will impartially judge me thereby. If elected I shall vote with the Great Liberal Party, and in favor of measures which will benefit the masses of the people and encourage the settlement of human beings upon lands which are now unbroken solitude. I am in favor of carrying on our present public works system, and of appropriating by means of a Land Tax (including Native Lands) sufficient of the increased value to pay interest and sinking fund and provide for Governmental expenditure. I also believe in abolishing the Customs Duties aad Property Tax, thus directly raising the poor man's wages and encouraging industry. 421 A. DESMOND.
