Nelson, October 5. Mr. Yogel has announced his intention to stand for the Franklyn district. At the provincial election for tbe Thames, Mitchell's return was carried bya large majority. ' The Carandinis sail for San Francisco by the Wonga Wonga, on Friday next. One hundred diggers leave for Queensland by the s.s. James Paterson. The Coromandel diggings are turning out splendid crusbings. Several claims are yielding seven to fifteen ounces to the ton. ' The Golden Crown reef has been struck by the Otago claim. Tbe Shotovur has yielded 1,500 ounces for the past month. The Governor intends to visit Waikato to-morrow. Tbe barque Cantero, by order of the Vice- Admiralty, was sold this morning for £500.
