COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
MESSRS. Smith, Peacock, and Co. report : — At our sale of the 26th we disposed of cattle as advertised. Yearling steers, 545. to 605. ; two-year olds, 60s. to 80s. ; heifers, a superior lot, ranged from 555. to 80s. At the latter price we sold a pen of eight, which were secured by Col. Whitniore ; ages, 12 to 15 months. Mr. Tanner's horses were disposed of, but prices were most unsatisfactory, horses being a decided drug. Hacks ranged from £7 to £3 3s. Mr. Brown's horses, although a useful lot, were low in condition and met with no competition. "We had sundry offers privately, but could not do business.
