SUEZ CANAL CHARGES
COMPANY PAYS HUGE FEES. SUM OF £087,000 IN YEAR. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. Mr E. W. Austin, president of the Sydney Harbour Trust, criticising the Suez Canal charges, declared that the P. and O. company paid £687,000 in dues in 1933. A round trip by the liner Strathaird involved a payment of £13,539 and the Strathnaver £13,143, while each trip of the Mooltan cost £4400.
