PAYMENT OF ALIMONY
Soviet Plans to Make Unions Responsible for Collections NO MEMBERSHIP FOR EVADERS (United Fresa Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received noon, to-day. LONDON, Aug. 22. The “Chronicle’s” Moscow correspondent says that, in consequence of an inadequate enforcement of sentences in 200,000 alimony cases last year, the public prosecutor demands that trade unions become collectors of alimony and supervisors of the worker’s behaviour to his family. He proposes that alimony axvards be recorded in the union books, and that a collection be made at the place of employment. Evaders would automatically be deprived of their union membership, when they would find difficulty in obtaining employment.
