Novelty Gifts Competition At the monthly meeting of the Togaora branch of the W.D.F .U., held last Friday. Mrs H. Tosland presided and there was a good attendance. The president- reported having attended the executive meeting and gave a resume of the business done. It was decided to assist with a general display at the Egmont A. and P. show. An invitation to the Otakeho birthday party was received. A letter was received from the Returned Soldiers’. Re-establishment Committee asking the branch to cooperate in disposing of work done by disabled soldiers. It was decided to order £2 worth of articles. , Mrs Tosland gave a lengthy report of busjness done at the recent conference and stressed the necessity of delegates attending the conference because of the educational benefit which they received. Delegates, she said, returned imbued with inspiration to Work harder in the interests of,the A for novelty Christmas gifts was won by Mrs Sly, with Mrs Thrush second. It was decided to have a quilting demonstration at next meeting, also a competition for the best pot of marmalade. it Mrs Thrush was accorded a vote or thanks for demonstrating how to wmd wool on a winding machine.
