ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
SCHOOL TEAMS AT HAWERA. PROSPECTS FOR NEXT YEAR. Six primary school Association football teams are assured lor next year at Hawera, it was reported at a meeting of the Taranaki Football Association at Stratford last night. Five teams were under way, it was added. but it had not been attempted to conduct a competition this year South Taranaki delegates at the meeting were Messrs W. Adams, president, R. James, D. McCormick, H. Longstaff, secretary (Hawerah A suggestion was received from the Albion club that selectors for the Taranaki team should not be playing member's of any club.
One of the selectors. Mr N. S. Bremer, complained that he had not been consulted in the selection of the Taranaki team to play Wbmganui. t lt appeared that whoever picked the team had no confidence in him and if that was the case he would, on principle, resign from the position. The secretary explained that he was told by Mr W. Johnston that Mr Bremer was in hospital and in view of that information the selection was referred to the other selector, Mr F. Starling, who picked the team The Albion proposal was defeated and the selection of the team was endorsed.
