EARMARKING PROPOSALS

It was reported at the meeting of the South Taranaki Pig Breeders’ Association Council this morning that the question of identification marks on pigs would be discussed at the next meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association. It was agreed that earmarking was the only satisfactory method of lden tit cation. . Those present were Messrs F. Ogle (chairman), W. Pollock, H. Foreman, H. Parsons and C. H. Washer. It was decided to make a of £2 2s to the Egmont A. and P. Association for the forthcoming show to provide a prize for the best sow and litter, any breed. It was decided to hold an autumn sale in February and a spring sale in July. The secretary (Mr R. McCay) reported that the remit from the South Taranaki branch had been carried bv the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association and subsequently by the Royal , Agricultural Society. The remit was | now being presented to the Minister.
