Didlier iPoulain, the tennis expert of the neAVspaper “L’Auto,” confirms a report that he challenged Jean Borotra following a lively exchange of letters dealing Avith Borotra’s refusal to play in the Davis Chip singles, although lie Avas playing in the Wimbledon singles. Borotra, in a letter to “L’Auto,” said : “M. Poulam, Avith an evident lack of good faith, wrote that I could not play five sets. What I wrote Avas that I could not play five sets on hard courts.”
