Mr W. T. Conder, general manager of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, has resigned as from yesterday, says a Sydney cable. The Governor-General, Lord Galway, will leave Auckland by the Limited express to-night for Marton for two days’ duck-shooting. He will return to Auckland on Sunday morning. Mr L. M. Fairbrother, of Auroa, who lias accepted the position of headmaster at Turuturu school, will take up his duties next Monday. Mr Reid will act in a relieving capacity at Auroa.

A Press Association telegram received from Auckland to-day states that, the death occurred this morning of Mr George Hogan, chief city traffic inspector in Auckland. He was widely known and was a popular officer. Mr W. E- Fowler, L.R.A.M., A.R.C.M., director of the Bristol Eisteddfod, organist and choirmaster oi the All Saints’ Anglican Church, Bristol, will act as adjudicator at the musical competition festival in Wellington, New Zealand, in August and September. Mr Fowler will spend two months in Perth, Western Australia, with his wife and his daughter, Mrs Stanley Stone, before coming on to New Zealand. Colonel J. Pow, who lias held the office of secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union for the past twelve years, has tendered his resignation to take effect as from July 1. Colonel Pow, who has been in ill-health lately, is now making steady progress toward recovery. Before accepting the position lie lias now decided to relinquish, Colonel Pow was Dominion sec retary of the R.S.A.
