The articles included a leather overcoat, a light grey flannel suit, a pair of shoes and some tobacco. The first stop yesterday was taken when an abandoned ear which had crashed into a lamp-post at Westown was discovered. The New Plymouth station got in touch with Wanganui, and from information received from there the car was identified as the one stolen from Waitotara.

Detective Kearney and four members of the police force then conducted an extensive search and shortly after noon yesterday the two men wore arrested a few minutes after their arrival at a boarding bouse, where apparently they intended to spend the night.
