RAIN FOR HOLIDAY-MAKERS
* HEAVY AUCKLAND DOWNPOURSAILING CRAFT SWAMPED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, To-day. Easter holidaymakers returned to work to-day in pelting rain. The rainfall for 24 hours to nine o’clock this morning was .96 inches, the heaviest fall this month. . . A confused sea was running m the harbour and several small sailing craft were swamped at their moorings and two were driven ashore, but not damaged. , , As a result of the ram the Easter bowling and tennis tournaments have again been, postponed. •
