ELECTION, OF OFFICERS. TRiIBUTES TO MR TREADWELL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, To-day. The annual meeting of the Law Society of New Zealand on Friday elected the following officers: President, Mr H. F. O’Leary (Wellington); vicepresident, Mr A. H. 'Johnstone, K.O. (Auckland); treasurer, Mr P. Levi (Wellington) ; management committee of the solicitors’ fidelity guarantee fund, Messrs. C. H. Treadwell (chairman), E. P. Hay, P. Levi, all of AVellington, and A. H. Johnstone. Mr Treadwell announced that he was retiring from the presidency owing to ill-health, and Mr Donnelly (Christchurch) in paying him a tribute, said that all members of the council had the deepest gratitude for the work done by him for the society over a longer period than the lifetime of some of those present at the meeting. Speakers for other centres associated themselves with the remarks of Mr Donnelly. •
