Boy Commits Forgery
Stole Cheque Forms From Employer and Obtained £3l MAGISTRATE’S COMMENT (By Telegrapn—rress Association.! J GISBORNE, To-day. Eight charges of forgery and uttering, involving the sum of £3l, was admitted by a boy in the Child AY elfaro Court this morning. The police explained that the boy iiad stolen ten cheque forms from his employer, eight of which he filled in over the forged signature of his employer and cashed with various tradespeople. Two of the forms are still missing. The magistrate remarked that he was surprised that the bank had passed the cheques as tne forged signatures bore no resemblance to the original. The boy was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon in two years, and was placed under the care of the child welfare officer for that term.
