CHARGES OF BOOKMAKING. BARMAN AND OTHERS CONVICTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., To-day. A fine of £SO was imposed on Norman Arnold Dalzell, a barman, in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of bookmaking.

Arthur Lawrence, a labourer, John William Marshall, an agent, and William Fitzgerald, engine-driver, were each fined £2O on a charge of frequenting the street for the purpose of betting. AVilliam Charles Healey, a Telief worker, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon on a. charge of publicly exhibiting a document which contained notification as to the betting on races at the Woodville meeting.
